Turkeys, Coyotes and Bobcats, Oh My!

Writer: Jeff JorgensenJeff Jorgensen

Had an unusual day of wildlife sightings the other day. They were all on the “East Bench” of Bountiful. The first sighting was a wild turkey crossing the road in front of my car. The funny looking white line is a crack in my windshield.

Then another turkey crossed the road and then I realized there was a whole flock on the side of the hill. Apparently, they didn't care that they were in a "no trespassing" area.

A little while later, a coyote came up over a hill right next to my car, but then it darted back down the hill before I could get a picture. Not long after this, I noticed several people looking up at the top of another hill nearby. That's when I realized there was a bobcat resting in the sun and enjoying the view. After a closer look, I could see that there were actually two bobcats, but I was only able to photograph one before they wandered off. The picture doesn't do it justice. It was quite amazing to see the two bobcats resting on the hill looking out over the valley below us.

I worked with them as the appraisal coordinator for my lending institution for three years and they are great to work with. Not a corporation but a family owned business which is nice and always willing to explain anything I had questions about.

Our law firm, Heideman & Associates, hired Jeff Jorgensen to work as an expert witness on a construction defect matter. Jeff was very professional, quick to respond to our inquiry and communications, and did an excellent job for our case. We wouldn't hesitate to use Jeff for future expert needs and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, professional appraiser!
